John Henry Behrens has more than ten years of natural and specialty CPG experience, starting at KeHE Distributors, North America's second-largest natural and specialty grocery distributor. He progressed quickly through the organization by learning as much as he could about grocery distribution through customer service, sales, marketing, category management, and supplier development.
After gaining experience in distribution, he joined SPINS, a data tech company focused on syndicating consumer purchase data in the natural foods industry, where he worked on category management consulting for US-based retailers. He collaborated with middle-market retailers of all sizes, in all geographies, to help them identify problems and implement long-term, data-driven solutions. Through this extensive work, he gained an intimate understanding of how retailers think and operate, giving him the context he needed to bring efficient growth strategies to high-potential brands.
Most recently, John Henry played a crucial role at Flow Alkaline Spring Water, one of the fastest-growing sustainably packaged beverage companies in North America. He led the development of FP&A, Sales, and Operational structures that were designed to be lean and scalable as the company worked towards sales milestones, a public listing in 2021, and a mandate for profitability.
